Project: Amp 2
Project: Amp 2 I’ve started breadboarding up a new amp, similar to Destructifier. I’m shooting for a few things I couldn’t fit on the original, like a feedback loop, a better volume control, and hopefully some new noise goodness. Possibly a LFO if I can figure it out by the time this thing comes together. I’ve had a request for one from a friend, so I figured I’d...

Casper Electronics: Drone Lab
I’ve had my eye on Casper Electronics sweet ass Drone Lab kit for a bit. I got a notice yesterday that the housing kits were back in stock that reminded me I wanted to score one. I think I am ready circuit/solder wise for a job of this size and complexity. I hope I am. So, once I get paid, I will pick one up. I am really looking forward to taking the build on and then getting to play with...

Really Useful Boxes, Inc. →
I’ve had a few people ask me what the cool little boxes I use for my projects are. So I thought I’d share with yall just in case. They are from a company in the UK called Really Useful Boxes. I get mine from Staples and Office Depot here in the US. The size I prefer is their .2L box, as seen here on my site. I’ve built an amp and APC in them. I also use them to hold extra...

Amps = cool.
I’ve somewhat recently started trying to find the right simple low power amp circuit to add to some of my bends. I want to be able to add some feedback and distortion and that crunchy/overdrive sound to things. I’ve got a few good schematics but have yet to find one in particular I like. I know GetLoFi.com has a nice little very simple one, and I’ve discovered a few others with...

Project: Little Tikes Pop Tunes Keyboard - Take 2
I am a glutton for punishment it seems, because I picked up another of these damn keyboards with the tiny freaking resistors. And plan on bending it or trying. Yesterday, I opened it up and started figuring out what I wanted to do. First thing I did was replace all of the red/green/yellow LEDs with ultra bright blue ones. I’m also going to do something to the dome the LEDs are in so...

Got some good bending links?
Please feel free to share, I am looking for good places to find bend info. And would like to compile a list to post here in the sidebar as I can.

Score: willitbend.com →
Yesterday, on a whim while checking out willitblend.com, I noticed that willitbend.com was free. Not anymore. Mine all mine! My hope is to bring this blog there at some point. For now, it’s just got a placeholder. I love domain names. They are addictive!

This hobby is expensive.
I dunno who said you can do circuit bending on the cheap, they were wrong. Luck into a cool toy at a thrift store or garage sale, yea! Need $10+ in parts to bend it, boo! Some of the crap I’ve bent has more in good parts on it than the toy or gadget cost. Heck, most of them have more in batteries inside than they cost! With that said, it is most certainly fun. I guess maybe it’s...

Back to the Casio ML-1
Sigh. This one’s been tough so far. And considering how easy and massive the bends on the SK-1 are, and the VTech toy I just finished, the ML-1 seems to be either a really good challenge, or there is just not much for it. Well, beyond adding LEDs, an output jack, pot based volume, voltage choke etc… I think I have 2 glitches, both are squeals, which sound cool but I want some logic...

Online Sources for Parts
This is a partial list of places I use for my potentiometers, switches, leds, etc. I will try to add to it as I think of places. Jameco - great selection and good pricing Mouser Electronics - also a great selection and pricing Cascade Surplus - They tend to have less stuff but great pricing on what they do have Amazon - You can find a lot of your needs here, welding stations, helping hands,...

Project: VTech Alphabet Desk
I’ve got a few hours of time playing with this one. There are like 2 other variations of this unit (not sure the differences inside but they are very different outside.) It seems to be very bendable, but I am not happy until I’ve found as many bends as possible. So far, I’ve added some glitches, logic scrambles, something that appears to bend the pitch (but also causes...

Project: Ribbit Box has a name - FR0GAC1D3
Yeah, I know the 1’s for i’s and all that is silly, but for this project, I wanted a name that worked. And it has ‘frog’, acid’ and sounds like suicide or homicide, since I’m murdering the sounds on the chip. Tonight, I added a 2nd LED, a voltage choke pot and pitch pot to go along with the photo resistor for crazy zany goodness, frog style. Now I just need to...

Anyone got some Casio ML-1 glitches documented?
I am looking for some good glitches/bends for my Casio ML-1 keyboard. I’ve found some stuff myself, but there are a few glitches I see in videos that I cannot replicate. Share the love!
